C2C2-CO-like Family
Description
Lagercrantz & Axelsson. 2000: A family of CONSTANS LIKE genes (COLs) has recently been identified in Arabidopsis thaliana and other plant species. CONSTANS, the first isolated member, is a putative zinc finger transcription factor that promotes the induction of flowering in A. thaliana in long photoperiods.
Members of this familySHOULD possess CCT zf-B_box domains
SHOULD NOT possess GATA PLATZ domains
This family is also present in:
- Micromonas sp. RCC299
- Ostreococcus lucimarinus
- Ostreococcus tauri
- Chlamydomonas reinhardtii
- Chlorella sp. NC64A
- Coccomyxa sp. C-169
- Physcomitrella patens
- Selaginella moellendorffii
